Microsoft Word provides variety of useful and advance features to make our working life easier and also done our work more quickly. Among of all those features Microsoft Word also provides the Automatic Numbering feature which is very useful for us when we need to make list or something other like this is word document but sometime the automatic numbering and bulleting features in Microsoft Word can be unconditionally irritating. You’ll be happily typing along, making your document look exactly how you like, then suddenly Word decides to unexpectedly add a number or bullet to what you’re writing.
I appreciate the software trying to make things easier for me, but most of the time, it guesses wrong. But don’t worry here I need to tell you that this, this feature can be turned off. You can disable the feature in Word that automatically starts entering numbered or bulleted text for you.
Steps involved to disable Automatic Numbering and Bulleting.
Word 2007
1. From the “Office Button” menu, select “Word Options“.
2. Click “Proofing“.
3. Click “AutoCorrect Options“, and then click the “AutoFormat As You Type” tab.
4. Under “Apply as you type“, deselect “Automatic bulleted lists” and “Automatic numbered lists“.
5. Click “OK” and you’re done.
Now no more annoying automatic bullets or numbers appearing when you type.
