Sometimes we need a specific pictures size for example 25 kb, 32 kb or any other size to upload them at any website for registration or any other purpose. For this purpose, we have need to compress or resize the picture. To do this we need graphic editing software like Adobe Photoshop or any other Graphic editing software. Maximum people are not familiar to these or they don’t have such heavy software. Therefore, to compete this task we can perform this task at Microsoft Word as well. Because Microsoft office also provide basic picture editing in Microsoft Word.

Step 1:

Select the picture you want to compress.

Step 2:

Click the Picture Tools Format tab, Ã click Compress Pictures.

Step 3:

From popup windows Do one of the following:
|
- To compress your pictures for insertion into a document, under Resolution, click Print.
- To compress your pictures for publication on a Web page, under Resolution, click Web.
- To compress your pictures for sending in an e-mail message, under Resolution, click E-mail.

Some pictures will only allow one or two of these options.

Step 4:

Click OK, and then Go to File Menu Select “SAVE” to complete he image compression.

NOTE:

You can undo compression by clicking Reset Picture. Compression changes will not be saved until you explicitly save them.

Method 2: Compressing a Picture using Microsoft Office Picture Manager
You can also perform this task easily with Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
Note: If you are using Microsoft office 2010 or below then Microsoft Picture Manager is installed automatically with this software but if you are using Office 2013 or above then you have to download and install it separately from Microsoft office Website Click to Download Official Link, (Alternate Link)
Step 1:

Launch Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Microsoft Office Picture Manager enables you to compress images for Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Step 2:

Click the "Picture" menu and click "Compress Pictures." Click "Documents" under "Compress for" and select the picture you want to compress.

Step 3:
|
Click "OK" to compress the image for your Microsoft Word document.
